Upgrading equipment in an older processing facility is always a challenge. When a popular soft drink manufacturer needed to install a new pd pump for liquid sugar transfer, they faced two issues. The plant location where they wanted to place the heavy pump was too constrained for forklift access. In addition, the floor was not level, which is not idea for rotating equipment.
First, jadler recommended a positive displacement pump and motor based on the high viscosity of the liquid sugar.
To get the pump into place, jadler devised a simple yet ingenious solution by welding the pump and motor onto a portable cart with castors. Independently adjustable feet were added to stabilize the cart for permanent placement and allow for easy levelling. From there, jadler’s installation team tied in all required tubing.
The plant operator wanted the coupler connecting the pump and motor to be visible and accessible for easy monitoring and cleaning. At the same time, it had to protect workers from moving parts. So jadler installed a stainless steel mesh guard as an answer. It’s just another example of our team’s ability to think outside of the box (or should we say, outside of the soft drink bottle!)
